I’ll never forget the first time I heard Biggie rap! It was the on the Supacat “Dolly My Baby” Remix. Fast forward to the summer camp I was attending at Benedict College in 1995, I was 12 years old, he had grown in popularity and the girls there were telling me that I resembled him. Not that long ago that would’ve been fighting words, but because he was the hottest rapper in the game and looked at as a sex symbol by his female fan base, I took it as a compliment and would usually blush as much as the melanin in my skin would let me. After listening to “Ready To Die” for 6 months straight, I remember feeling like this is the greatest album I’ve herd in my life. I could go on and on about how much his music impacted me, but I hope you enjoy this tribute to the greatest rapper of all time who tragically lost his life on March 9th. This project contains Big’s music reimagined by me.
