about

November 6, 2007, The acapellas of Jay-Z's "American Gangster" album were released. Because I had a friend that was working at a local record store, he let me get a copy the Friday before and I spent the entire weekend plus Monday and part of Tuesday (November 6) making new beats for the remix project I called "American Beatmaker". By the time other dj's and producers were opening up there copy and preparing to start blending and remixing I had already uploaded mine to the internet. My original fans online started blogs and I was fortunate to be one of the artist that they shared with their followers. Kevin Nottingham is the guy who comes immediately to mind. Some of my fans uploaded the project to torrent and fileshare websites which really helped the project go viral,Here in Columbia, journalist like Otis Taylor, Patrick Wall thought enough of me to write about in The State Newspaper, and The Free Times. Kevin Roche did the original artwork , DJ Cannon Banyon and DJ Dyce really inspired and helped my mass produce and distribute copies all throughout there network of stores all over the south. One of my fondest memories is getting phone calls about the remixes being played in a couple college bars in Five Points.
